In St-Cergue, in the Nyon hills, in the heart of the Vaudois Jura Regional Park, the Basse Ruche mountain pasture restaurant offers a whole host of activities in winter and summer, such as swin golf, a version of golf also played over 18 holes but with only one club.
Created in 1982 by a golf enthusiast who wanted to share his passion with as many people as possible, swin golf offers all the appeal of the original game, in a more relaxed form. Without having to learn any specific techniques, participants of all ages and abilities play on an 18-hole course with a single three-sided club and a foam ball which is bigger than a normal golf ball.
Swin golf can be played here from May to September, Wednesday to Sunday. In addition, there are two giant zip wires to whizz down and visitors can try their arm at archery, hurtle downhill on a dirt scooter or have a go at footgolf, a combination of these two popular sports. But Basse Ruche is primarily a mountain pasture restaurant with a warm ambiance serving delicious grills and typically Swiss fondues.
