The Archette snowshoe trail is a circular route starting at the village of St-Cergue, taking you through snowy forests, with fantastic views of the Alps and Lake Geneva.
This itinerary in the woods of the Corps de Garde starts in the village of St-Cergue, in front of the Vieux Château bakery, on the road to Nyon.
A short climb through the woods of the Corps de Garde will lead you to the magnificent panorama of the Vieux Château. If the weather is good, you will be able to admire the mountain range of the Alps and Lake Geneva. The place is designed for you to linger with tables and benches while enjoying the view and the possibility to take nice pictures.
The rest of the route takes you through forests, pastures and cottage areas and then past the Archette farm halfway along the route.
To prolong the experience, take the detour in the direction of the Barillette before going back down to the parking lot of the Barillette refuge (former departure of the chairlift which no longer exists).
You can then continue on the path to Cheseaux and by the old road to the village of St-Cergue, where several restaurants offer regional specialties.
