The association "The Most Beautiful Villages in Switzerland", founded in 2015 in Lugano, aims to preserve and present the small treasures of Switzerland and Liechtenstein in order to make them known at national and international level.
To be part of it, villages must be particularly deserving and located in an exceptional landscape. Authenticity and historical aspect are also essential criteria, as is the willingness of the municipality to work in a network.
The tranquil wine village of Leman, located along the famous "route du vignoble de la Côte" is surrounded by beautiful vineyards and offers magnificent views of the "sea of Switzerland" (Lake Geneva). Many are the producers who open the doors of their houses to let you taste the excellent local wine and cheese. But the real jewel of the village is hidden inside, the magnificent Romanesque church of the year 1000 dedicated to St. Martin and subject to the convent of Romainmôtier (also a member of the network of villages). Both communes are also part of the European federation of Cluniac sites, a cultural itinerary of the Council of Europe.
