Nyon goes wild for the festive season

The City of Nyon, in partnership with many local players, is offering a sparkling programme for the festive season.

Make Winter Festive in Nyon
From early December, festive lighting will illuminate Nyon's town center, creating a warm and magical atmosphere for all ages. This light trail seamlessly connects the upper and lower parts of the town, transforming it into a winter wonderland.

December 3–12: Festivities in Neighborhoods

IllumiNyon returns to light up the neighborhoods of La Paix, Cossy, and Stand, as well as Bel-Air Square and Jardin de la Duche. Expect breathtaking fire and shadow performances, candles, and braziers to bring these areas alive. La Redoute will host a major celebration featuring a lantern parade, musical and dance performances, and a free buffet.

December 12–22: Festivities in the Town Center

Bel-Air Square will feature a large dome offering a cozy bar and dining area, plus a carousel. Local producers and artisans will sell their goods at St. Martin Square and Rue de la Gare:

- December 17: 3 PM–8 PM.
- December 18: 3 PM–8 PM.
- December 19–20: 3 PM–10 PM.
- December 22: 3 PM–8 PM.

The town centre will come alive with a variety of events in Place Bel-Air, Place Saint-Martin and the surrounding streets.
Wednesday 18 December. From 5pm, IllumiNyon will light up the Place Bel-Air with fire shows, a Gospel concert and activities for children. Drinks offered by the Municipality.

Thursday 19 December. From 5pm, children's obstacle course between Place du Château and Place Bel-Air, with music along the way (no registration required). Face painting, a magic show, live music and Father Christmas will round off this lively evening. DJ set with Collectif Club Katel from 8pm to keep the party going.

Friday 20th December. At 7pm, an open-air screening of the film Maman, j'ai raté l'avion (1h43, age 7 and up, French version) in the Place Bel-Air (under the dome in case of bad weather), followed by a karaoke evening in partnership with Visions du Réel. At 6pm, the Ensemble Choral de la Côte will give a concert. There will also be various musical events.

Saturday 21st December. From 10am to 6pm, an ethical craft market organised by the Bubble Ethic collective at Place Bel-Air. At 5pm and 8pm, circus performances in the town centre by L'Elastique Citrique. Silent Disco at 9pm in the Place du Château in collaboration with the Usine à Gaz, with the castle illuminated for the occasion.

Sunday 22nd December. From 3pm, an afternoon for children with storytelling, pony rides and Father Christmas handing out presents at Place Bel-Air and Place St-Martin.

Stands and entertainment in the city centre
Nyon's businesses will be bringing the festive spirit to life in the city centre with stalls selling local produce and handicrafts on Saturday 14, Thursday 19, Friday 20 and Saturday 21 December. The stalls will be set up mainly in Rue Perdtemps and Rue Neuve, but will also be located elsewhere in the town centre from time to time. Musical entertainment and other surprises will add an extra festive touch to the city centre's shopping streets.

Night-time opening of family shops
To prolong the festive atmosphere, Nyon's shops will remain open at night until 10pm on Thursday 19 December and Friday 20 December.
Family shops will also be open from 10am to 8pm on Sundays 15 and 22 December.

Free public transport on night-time evenings
To enable everyone to make the most of the festivities, the Town of Nyon is offering free travel on the TPN urban routes (803, 804 and 805) from 4pm until the end of the service on the evenings of the evening events on Thursday 19 and Friday 20 December.

Opération Sapin Solidaire at Place Bel-Air
Du 6 au 18 décembre, la place Bel-Air accueillera l’Opération Sapin Solidaire, organisée par les bénévoles de la paroisse de Nyon–Crans–Prangins. Dans un esprit de discrétion et de solidarité, ces bénévoles collecteront les souhaits de Noël des enfants défavorisés de Nyon et de ses environs. Chaque souhait sera inscrit sur une carte qui sera ensuite accrochée à une branche d’un Sapin Solidaire. Les personnes souhaitant faire un geste de générosité sont invitées à prendre une carte, à acheter le cadeau indiqué (d’une valeur maximale de 40 francs), puis à le remettre à l’équipe du Sapin Solidaire.
