Founded in 1916, the Cercle d'Echecs de Nyon aims to develop the practice of chess in the Nyon region by putting priority on conviviality and the pleasure of being together. The chess school has experienced unprecedented development in recent years. Many courses are now organized both weekdays and weekends. In terms of competitions, young and old alike will find teams at their level which will allow them to rub shoulders with teams from other French-speaking clubs, or even beyond for the most talented. For adults, competitions are very often followed by convivial meals. The "club night" is Thursday evening. Friendly games take place in the beautiful setting of Villa Niedermeyer, by the lake.
