Once upon a time, there was a soldier and a ballerina. One made of lead and one-legged, the other made of paper. Secluded from the other toys and abandoned on a windowsill, he fell in love with her. And she, too, fell in love with him - it was love at first sight. But - because there's always a but in a story - the two toys are suddenly separated, blown apart by a gust of wind that pushes them outside. One finds himself lost in the bowels of the city, while the other, made of paper, has vanished into thin air. Both are thrown into parallel worlds populated by disturbing birds, relentless rats and other bizarre characters who stand in their way. Will the soldier and the ballerina ever find each other again?
